Textron Aviation has welcomed the newest Cessna Citation business jet in the legendary 560XL series , Cessna Citation Ascend, which is under development with an anticipated entry into service in 2025 making an important technological step in the aviation industry with an enhanced cockpit, improved performance and a modern cabin

AVIONICS

The new business jet is equipped with cutting-edge Garmin G5000 avionics, offering advanced features like autothrottle technology and flight-envelope protection. It boasts three large high-resolution displays, synthetic vision for obstacle visualization, and dual flight management systems. Notably, the cockpit has a voice and data satellite transceiver for making calls from the aircraft. The jet also features Garmin's advanced weather detection and avoidance technology, ensuring the pilot has full control with the latest software and hardware.

PW545D

The newest Cessna Citation in the 560XL series takes performance to new heights. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW545D turbofan engines, this aircraft boasts impressive speed and range capabilities. It can cruise at speeds of up to 441 knots and has a range of approximately 1900 nautical miles, allowing for non-stop travel between key business destinations, it is also equipped with Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) technology.

In comparison to the Citation XLS+, a variation can be observed in the turbines. The PW545D is an enhanced version of the PW545C engine. It features a more efficient high-pressure compressor, resulting in increased airflow. The engine also includes an enhanced single-stage, high-pressure turbine module and an advanced exhaust mixer. The PW545D engine is capable of operating with blends of up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel with conventional Jet A kerosene. This is part of Pratt & Whitney Canada's ongoing efforts, in collaboration with public and private entities, to lead the development of sustainable solutions that will help the industry achieve its goal of net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050.

MODERN CABIN

The aircraft features a spacious and ergonomically designed interior, ensuring optimal comfort during long flights. The cabin length is 18 ft 6 in and a height of 60 in and provides ample room for up to twelve passengers to stretch out and enjoy a luxurious flying experience, and also, with a flat floor, cabin comfort is transformed.
